post 7: Change to my study programme

 

Hello, today I will write about the changes I would make in the study programme of my career: Bachelor of Visual Arts.

We have two types of subjects, some are theoretical and the others are practical, they intertwine and complement each other, I would add more branches of philosophy, sociology, psychology, in the subject of art history, I will mention more the role of women in art, since it is a very exclusive field for us, in addition to being very Eurocentric, I would like there to be a subject of pre-Hispanic art history, where we had archaeological knowledge, I feel that indigenous art is greatly undervalued, and precisely it is what does not let us know our true identity.

Regarding the infrastructure, I would like to have spacious workshops that do not rain in the winter, the art faculty is very deteriorated due to time and the bad use of the workshops. And it needs an almost complete restoration. I would add the implementation of wide lockers for the students and paint corridors with colors or free use for artistic interventions, currently it is always being painted gray, censoring and creating a depressing atmosphere.

I believe that the teaching methods are good, I consider that there is a lot of commitment on the part of some teachers with the learning and inclusion of the students, many times very close relationships are formed. And most teachers encourage collaborative work among colleagues, eliminating competitiveness and egoism.
